Digital Composition Lab

Research.Build.Ship.

We are a research and development lab that builds software products. We take hard problems from research through to running product, on our own ventures and alongside partners. New technology gets used where it earns its place, and the work is judged on what it gives back to the people using it.

RESEARCH · PRODUCT · DESIGN · ENGINEERING

How the lab works

Lab to launch

AI has collapsed the cost of building software, though it has done nothing for the cost of building the wrong thing. So the lab runs at two speeds. We take our time deciding what deserves to exist, then move quickly once we know. Same arc whether the venture is ours or a partner's.

01 · Should it exist

Research

Every venture starts as a question: who is this for, what are their pains and gains, what do they get out of it, why now. Real research used to be a luxury. Not anymore. Domain experts run our research, with AI in their hands: real people, real questions, tested at a depth the biggest budgets once had to themselves. What we learn decides what we build.

02 · Find its shape

Build

This is where the speed goes, and it is speed with a discipline behind it. Designers and engineers work in one codebase, every change arrives with its test, and what customers see is running software, often within the week, with the experience shaped alongside the code rather than after it.

03 · Prove the value

Ship

Shipping is the easy milestone. The one that counts is the day we can measure what customers are getting out of the product, against the outcome we wrote down in research. Features that fail that test get cut, and the experience keeps being tuned from what customers actually do.

DIGITAL TRADE · R&DIN DEVELOPMENT

The passport into the UK and EU market

Data Passport™ is the technical platform behind THRIVE, the Anglo-Jordanian Digital Trade Corridor, whose mission is to introduce Jordanian companies to the UK and EU markets with evidence a buyer there can trust. The platform runs the assessment across six dimensions, from data protection and security to intellectual property and market presence. Each is graded against the standards a UK client's legal team applies today: UK data protection law as amended in 2025, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law. A UK lead assessor and trained assessors in Amman work through it. The company gets the full report. Its counterparts abroad get a passport.

COMMERCE · R&DIN DEVELOPMENT

Commerce that pays attention

A turnkey ecommerce experience, opinionated from storefront to checkout, built around the customer rather than the catalogue. Recommendations, engagement and messaging follow what each person actually does, read with the care social platforms spend on behaviour and spent on the shopper and the vendor alike. Attention is earned by permission and kept by being useful, so the store grows because people come back. Placeholder name until the product earns its own.

Why DCL

Anyone can ship fast now. The hard part is shipping something worth using

Engineering depth

Our engineers prototype in the stack they would ship: agent protocols, storage that respects where data may live, infrastructure built to run in production. So an answer found in research still holds when it is built for real.

Design craft

Research, product design, customer experience and brand sit under one roof, and our designers spend their days in the running code. The people who study a problem are the ones who shape the answer to it, and they stay with the customer after it ships.

Value discipline

Every venture names the outcome its users should get, as a number we can measure, and we report against it. Speed only pays when it is aimed at the right problem, so features that give nothing back get dropped before launch.

Who we are

A full product team, pointed at problems worth solving

Software keeps getting easier to produce and harder to trust. DCL exists to close that gap. We build systems that can show their value under scrutiny, and that leave the people using them in control of their own data and their own customers.

One team carries a venture from question to production. No handoff between an agency that researches and an agency that builds, and no research that never reaches the code. Founded and led by Essa Haddad, and built from Amman for users anywhere.

Ground truth, where it counts

Compliance gets judged in a particular market, by regulators and customers who live there, and no specification can tell you in advance how that judgment will go. Where a venture turns on it, we build with partners who carry that ground truth.

In the lab together

Binexus carries the UK end of Data Passport™ with us. A platform that grades readiness for the UK and EU markets is only worth what a client's legal and security reviewers there make of it, and they notice the small things first: an ISO 27001 certificate to a withdrawn edition, a cloud service without multi-factor authentication, a transfer test that changed when UK data protection law was amended in 2025. Binexus reads the market that way, and brings the data science that turns six dimensions of evidence into a level a reviewer on either side of the corridor can trust.

That is why a lab working out of Jordan and the United States can grade a company's readiness for the UK and EU markets, and be believed on both sides of the corridor.

Build something real

Bring us the problem, and leave the spec at home. Two weeks of research will tell you, and us, whether it is worth building at all.

Contact

Book a conversation

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. Pick a time and describe what you are working on when you book. We read it beforehand, so the call starts on your problem instead of on introductions.

What to expect

You describe the problem when you book. The more context you give, the more useful the half hour.

We come back with what we would want to learn first, and whether a research sprint is the right next step.

If DCL is not the right fit, we will say so on the call rather than in a proposal three weeks later.
